ive got a 64 corvair and i was wondering if it would be able to handle about a 1000 watt max amp

i am not sure because the car has a generator and a voltage regulator

check the current output of the gen. or amps if it has about 75amps or more it will be ok. if i were you i would get a new ac/delcoe 200amp 1 wire alt straigt to the batt.

yeah, check and see how much that the generator actaully puts out...then match that to your amp.
