After reading a few diff posts on here about charging and battery drainage etc. I wanted to ask, is it worth having a capacitor or not? Currently I have a capacitor on my system, an odessy battery, and big three upgrade, but yet I have dimming lights and Amps in protect mode( I suppose from battery charge drop) so should I keep the cap or sell it and get what? Thanks

The only thing that CHARGES your system is the alternator.  Extra battteries will only allow you to play your system longer without the motor running.  Upgrade your alternator to the biggest one you can fit or afford.

I've taken off the cap and I've had the bog three done, and my system sounds louder, but my bass amp still cuts out and I've already benched it at a shop. How should I troubleshoot this issue? Should I get a new amp or have the sub checked out because voltage stays above 12.8 volts and during cut out is around 13.1 volts. How can I check my sub to make sure it is not the problem? I have a 15" kicker L7 4 ohm dvc

When the amp cuts out is it going into protection?  I suggest minimizing your ground return resistance and making sure your gain is properly set (instructions for both are in the Hot Topics forum.)

Is your amp capable of driving a 2 ohm mono load?

Yes it is, my amp is a kenwood 9103D, I have my sub wired to the amp with the vc's wired seperatly. So each set of terminals is getting a 4ohm load right? Which would break down into a 2 ohm load right?

4-ohm stereo is what you have wired.  This should be fine.  Is the gain set properly?  What is the ground resistance?

Guessing by the D in the model number, I am led to believe that it is a 1 channel amp with the 2 sets of terminals.  What you are describing is correct.  4 Ohms to each set of terminals will yield a 2 ohm load on the amp.

I have a pioneer deh 2200ub deck that has 2.5 volts output and a clarion eqs746 with up to 7 volts out, so this is where I've had some difficulty settin my gain. The book to my eq says "up to" 7 volts but shows no rms voltages, so how do I set my eq with my amp gains when the input sensitivity is from 5-0 volts on my amp? And as far as Ground resistane, I'm in the process of doing that, I've just been trying to understand how to do it
