I have a 97 accord ex-r, and am using kicker 6 1/2" components with kenwood 6 by 9's in the back, running them off a kicker kx 300.4...I want to know if there are any ways I can dampen the doors, and rear deck, with the least bit of modification.........thnx

Two words my friend......BROWN BREAD (or Dynamat). If you've heard of these products then i'm sure you know they're reputation. They are amazing dampners and will drastically reduce the amount of road noise coming into your car. The only downfall to these two products is that they are quite expensive. Fosgate also makes something called "Dead Skin" that also helps to dampen sound. I believe that it is like a (paint) brush on. I've never used it before but seen it in magazines. Are your 6x9's in a small enclosure or factory speaker box or anything like that? Having a box gives you a lot more bass response in your speakers. Not just with 6x9's but with any speaker. ------------- Andrew Weitzel

thnx for the info. I'm sure I could make a box, modified around the factory location for the 6 by 9's out of MDF, and keep it sealed...that would give me better response I think, have to find away to do it so it looks professional

oh yeah, does it matter what dimensions the box would be if I made them around the facory locations?

Hey rick_21_69, just dampening the doors or making an enclosire will no make the speakers sound better. You may get a better front sound stage from adjusting the speaker angle, but if you really wish to change the sound of the speakers, your best bet is to get an EQ. This iwll change the sound of the speaker and make them sound better.... not sound different. BTW : to answer your question about the enclosure size, yes it does make a difference as to what size you make the enclosure. Contact Kicker about a suitable speaker enclosure for the speakers.
