Is the factory subwoofer blown? How do the mids sound? Ok or less/muddy/etc...  compared to the other vehicles you've had?

Did someone change the speakers in the car?   Some Bose systems use a 1 or 2 ohm speaker.  When these speakers are changed out to a 4 ohm speaker, this is what happens.  The Bose amps of that Era did not have a power supply, they made their power via current of the 1 or 2 ohm speaker.  When replaced with a 4 ohm speaker, you cut the power output of the amp in 1/2 or 3/4.  If the original speaker was a 1 ohm, and it was changed to a 4 ohm, your output would be 1/4 of it's original output.

I cant help but think of " No High's...No Low's...Must be Bose" ...Kinda like when you hear "Stop"...Your brain says "Collaborate and Listen"...

Its sounds like another factory bose system has gone defective at the radio (tuner inop), dang not factory BOSE! This is a great chance to buy some real car stereo equipment.

Check your local shops, junk yards, ebay,etc...,you can find one cheap if your patient, even if you want to check it out to know for sure install an aftermarket as a temporary solution until you do get one.  Also if you did stay the aftermarket route buy one a little higher end that gives you wired remote feature, that way you can add a steering wheel interface to keep your controls, help this helps

Tommy I thought BOSE stood for Better Order Some Equipment.  Or was it Boy Our Stuff's Expensive.  Or was it you would be Better Off with Something Else.

If the CD is closer to normal, as stated earlier, your deck is the problem.

Aftermarket radios only look stupid if they are not properly installed.  They do make steering wheel control modules that allow you to use the OEM steering wheel buttons with an aftermarket radio.  Of course the radio you purchase will have to be steering wheel control capable.
