aftermarket hu remote control adapters

Hi all! First post here, although have been reading guides on here for this and that for many, many months! :)

Basically, I'm putting an in-car PC in my Renault Clio as it provides many more functions to what a head unit can provide for the same price.

As my title states, my question is to do with the remote steering controls. I have bought a small device that converts a resistance input into a keyboard button press (Joycon EX if anyone is curious as to the device's name)

However, from what I can see, the controls on my Clio are not resistance based. I have just tried wiring up each internal button individually with an in-line resistor to a new connector but this still hasn't worked (internally, there are multiple buttons connected to the same circuit, so pressing either the Vol- or Source buttons results in the same circuit being activated, hence the Joycon EX device cannot distinguish between the two buttons.)

So, finally, here's the question! I'm thinking it will be easier just to get an aftermarket remote adapter but it's output needs to be resistance based, not a communication protocol or anything like that. Does anyone know of a brand/device that will allow me to do this?

Or if the Clio is indeed resistance based (the controls go into the clock/radio display and come out as a seperate plug, but I think this is a custom Renault protocol that travels down those wires)

hmmm. I'm not familiar with these cars so bear with me if I as dumb questions.

1. On the steering wheel, does each button have individual "output" wires? If so, We can create the resistance needed.

2. Can't tell by the pictures, but does the Joycon EX only have 1 input with 4 ports?

Remote has 7 buttons and 6 wires, so not sure how they'd get the ground on there too, did a lot of poking around with a multimeter to start of with and couldn't make heads or tails of it!

Joycon has 4 inputs, each with a data and ground wire (+ and - really!)

Done a solid 2 hours of Googling and Sony seem to use a resistor based setup in their remotes, will have to get an adapter and see what happens I think!

Wait, so u want to wire a wireless aftermarket remote to for your pc, using the Joycon EX?
I thought that you wanted the FACTORY controls to work with the Joycon EX.

In this case, i suggest just using touch pad. I'm using one to move the cursor around and the onscreen keyboard when i don't feel like using the wireless one. I have a laptop in the car with the touchpad on the arm rest. Works for me.

No, I want to use the standard factory controls to work with the Joycon EX. By Sony adapter I meant the autoleads kit you buy to get the factory remote to interface with the Sony headunit, as apparently they use a resistor based setup.
