I am trying to install a KDC-MP245 Kenwood into my 96 Camaro with a Bose 5 speaker system. We got everything hooked up and the radio comes on but no sound. I went back to Best Buy to ask them (that is where I bought the radio) and they told me we know what the problem is but we won;t tell you unless you pay us. They wanted to charge me $40 for the 1st 30 minutes and $20 for every 15 minutes after that. I told them to stuff it. They said that these cars came with a factory installed amp. Well I never could find it. So why is there no sound? thanks

There is an amp turn on wire that you did not connect.  Did you purchase the wiring harness for your vehicle?

I bought the wiring kit at Wal Mart.

Does it have a blue or a blue/white wire on the harness?  if so connect it to the blue/white wire of your deck.

according to the manual for the deck there is a blue/white wire called the Pcont. I will look tomorrow. So hook that to a blue wire if there is one. Right?

Yes connect the blue/white wire of your radio to the blue or blue/white wire of the harness you purchased.  If there is not a blue wire on the harness, look for a pink wire on the cars wiring.  That is the amp turn on wire.  The P. Cont is Power Control AKA amplifier remote turn on wire.

Excellent. This is my first time dealing with amps. Something I did not know but will remember from now on. Thank you very much for the info. Ane Best Buy wanted to charge $40 for the 1st half hour and $20 for every 15 mintes after that for that answer.

Don't leave us hanging.  I think you tried it and it worked, but you did not make that real clear.
