very confused with infinity speakers

Ok so I order some Infinity Reference speakers for my 08 Altima(3032cf, 6032cf and 9632cf). Last week I installed a Pioneer AVIC-X920BT and wanted to change the speakers out because one they are crappy stockers and two they are 2 ohms. So I purchased these Infinity speakers and I just received them. When I looked at them they say 2 ohms and I was like crap. I went online and found out that they have this true 4 ohm capability, but I was confused so I called them up. I talked to the tech and he said that they will work just find but he sounded unsure.

What is this True 4-ohms technology? Will these work as 4 ohms and not mess up my Pioneer when I crank it up?

They are 2-ohm speakers.  The Infinity marketing information assumes that if you use standard high gauge factory speaker wire, this will add enough resistance to allow them to function properly with most head units.  You can always hook them up and see if it works in your application.  If the head unit shuts down then you will know it cannot handle the low impedance load.

2 ohm? i thought they were 3ohm. oh well.
Yeah, infinity assumes your crappy factory wiring will add resistance and therefore the head unit will "see" 4ohms. get it?

I usually just make the customer purchase 2 ohm resistors and wire them to the positive lead of each speaker. Or you can just try to run them on 2 ohms and see if they dont shut off your radio; but I dont think your pioneer can run a 2 ohm speaker load.

if they wont work with your deck you can always add a set of tweeters in series and that might raise your impedance to something your radio might like a little bit better, but naturally the power will be split between your infinitys and the tweeters.

and on a side note... i hate infinity. just my 0.02
