I have an Eclipse system that has an option for VTR player, but i want to know if this can be used to utilize the AUX port that the car has. Any help would be appreciated.

What is the model number of your head unit?

That HU does have an aux video input, assuming you have the Eclipse supplied cable.  What exactly are you tying to do with it?

there isn't a menu option to access the aux. I want to play music from my phone/ipod through the speakers.

Assuming you have the proper VTR/Steering wheel interface cable installed to the 6-pin connector on the back of the head unit, connect your iPod to the audio RCA connectors.  With the vehicle stopped and with parking brake set, on the head unit press the SOURCE/MENU button, then touch VTR.  Press CONT and you have selected that input.  I do not know if it will work properly with the vehicle in motion or if the entire input gets locked out, but you may be able to use it as an audio only aux input.  If it doesn't work, then you are out of luck with that head.

Hmm... If the cable was installed it might be hanging behind the unit somewhere under the dash.  But if the cable was not installed then you may be completely out of luck.  An Eclipse installer in your area may still be able to order a new one for you, but as it is an older head unit they might not be available.
