I have got an amp. JBL 1200.1
I have 2 Orion H2 12" 4 ohm subs. Dual Voice Coils
Can this amp work with these subs. How do you wire them to the amp CORRECTLY so I don't blow them. I have seen the wiring diagrams out there but I just don't know about my amplifier. I was told by someone that it is not bridgeable and your not supposed to with dual voice coils???
Please help.
I have no idea about the lowest safe operating impedance of your amp. But these are the 2 logical choices to wire the speakers. You need to find out if your amp is capable of driving a 1 ohm load before you attempt that load. Your amp is a 1 channel amp, you can not bridge it.
Option 1 (parallel/parallel) = 1 ohm load Voice coils wired in parallel, speakers wired in parallel Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 1 ohm mono |

Option 2 (series/parallel) = 4 ohm load Voice coils wired in series, speakers wired in parallel Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 4, 2, or 1 ohm mono |

Thanks for the help, my amp has 4 terminals. The pictures you gave me, do I put the positive on the far side, and the negative on the other far side? Or do I hook the up where the positive and negative are beside each-other if that makes any sense?
You have a 1 channel amplifier. There are 2 positive terminals and 2 negative terminals. Both positive terminals are connected together on the inside of the amp. The same with 2 negative terminals. It makes no difference whether you wire one woofer to one set of the terminals and then connect the second woofer to the other set, or if you wire it just as I posted to only one set of the connections.
