Im pretty sure the reason i have bad ground noise is because i didnt connect the ground on the amplified antenna (44-ua200 metra). Bt will this give ground noice even if im not playing the radio such as when im playing a dvd,cd,aux etc.?????
Pleas help....
BTW this is in a volvo xc90 2004
seriously, could you be more vague? are you running amps? which kind? is your radio a pioneer by chance? is your radio grounded separately or is it grounded more through the antenna? your antenna situation shouldn't have anything to do with having noise in your system unless your radio is somehow grounded through the antenna instead of directly through the chassis. if you used the factory ground wire in the harness that you bought( assuming you bought one) check on the vehicle side of the plug to make sure there actually is a ground wire in the pin where you have the ground attached. if there isn't, that your radio is/was grounded through the antenna. run a new ground.

If you have a Pioneer deck, read the info on the following link.

I used the antenna as the ground for the amplified antenna therefore I didn't ground the antenna and the deck is also grounded to the chasis. There are no equalizers, subs, crossovers, cd changers, etc just the deck. The volvo has to use this amplified antenna because there is no vehicle adaptor for that truck. The radio is pioneer 920bt.
