What is the formula used when calculating cubic feet for a sub enclosure? I know it is lenth x width x hight, but what is the formlua used to determine the interior volume of the enclosure?

Just subtract the area of the MDF and bracing from the volume you calculated from the size of the box.

And if you are just trying to get inches to cubit feet, then just divide your answer by 1728 <---- The number of inches in a cubic foot.

And if later on you forget the 1728, simply multiply 12 x 12 x 12.
