Hello all! I'm wanting to hook up an amp and subs to the stock radio system in my truck. The reason being is that I don't want to lose my bluetooth which goes through the stock radio. Does anyone know if this is possible? Are there sub-outs coming from the stock radio? Any help or advice would be welcome.
The radio does not have a subwoofer preamp output. You can connect a line output converter to provide a preamp level output for an amp. Does the vehicle have a Bose system?
I don't think so. Here is the head unit if that helps.

No, it does not have a Bose logo on the speaker grills. Will those wiring harnesses still work? Also, is the amp part of the head unit or is it seperate? I installed a subwoofer amp in a Honda Element a while back, and the stock amp was located in the passenger-side kick panel. Thanks for all your help.
You may need to remove the radio and see if the speaker wire colors are behind the radio. The wires will be located next to each other, Dark Blue next to Light Blue, Yellow next to Brown, Light Green next to Dark Green, if the right color wires are behind the radio and they are located as mentioned, that is where you should get them. If the colors are not there, you may need to look for an amp.
Maybe some of our Hands on Guys can let us know if there is an amp.
I was looking at the radio today and I am not sure how to go about removing it. Any ideas on how to do it without tearing anything up?
An Auto parts store should sell a set of trim panel removal tools, a glorified set of plastic butterknives. Or use a small flat blade screwdriver, the bottom of the panel around the radio can be pried outward. Once you get the bottom out, you may think you are going to break it when trying to get the top out of the clips. I know of nobody breaking one, but they will all tell you that they thought they were going to break it. 7MM or 9/32 nut driver or socket to remove.
I had a feeling it was going to be hard to get out. Looks like a really tight fit. The more I think about it, I'm leaning toward a different stereo. I'm afraid I won"t be satisfied with the stock unit. Looking at this one.

It's supposed to fit in the opening. Just going to cost a bit more... Thanks again for all your help. I'll post a pic when I get this done.
