i have a 99gmc suburban without onstar.  i am trying to install a mobil video player (necvox da-7169, dva310x, da230I combo) in the vehicle to replace the factory radio.  the player works when hooked up to my bench powersupply but when i put it in the car it does not even turn on.  i am using the wiring harness from the factory stereo.  i have double and tripple checked my wiring.  is there some sort of theft device that i have to disable or somethig?  im really frustrated.  thanks for your help,

etrik

You said you have double and triple checked your wiring....did you test all the wires with a DMM?  I would recommend you do that, to make sure the radio is getting the proper +12 volt constant, +12volt switched, and ground connections necessary for it to turn on.  If any of them are not working then check all your fuses in the vehicle to make sure none are blown.

Many of these radios DO have an anti-theft device, but yours either does not have one, or the feature was not enabled, cuz if it had one it wouldn't have powered up when you hooked it up to your bench power supply.
