The vehicle is a 2004 VW R32 with the factory Monsoon system.

It's OK but the rear speakers are pretty bad. I've searched around on multiple forums and have only seen one posting of the resistance and it was 2.3ohms. Does anyone know for sure? I was planning on replacing just the rear speakers with pretty much any 2ohm speaker because it will be better than the factory garbage. I don't really want a new head unit or bypassing the factory amp so I plan on just replacing the rear speakers with something that will work. I read that since they are a weird resistance you can't just stick a normal off the shelf speaker in it. Any input would be appreciated.

If you want 2ohm replacement speakers check out Infinitys reference/or kappa speakers, otherwise any standard 4ohm replacement will work fine, going to a 3to 4way speaker would help if you plan to keep the stock radio.
