hey all, problem just occured today. for some reason my fosgate 1500bd amp keeps going into protect mode like 5 secs. after the radio is turned on. then once this happens, i can hear strange screeching noises through my 12" subs(oh they are fosgate power hx2,dual 2 ohm..both wired to amp 2 ohm). ill just jot down here what all i have and the wiring. from battery under the hood(yellow optima),using 0/1 gauge power wire, goes to a battery isolator then back to the rear cargo area of my 99 durango to the 2nd(fosgate deep cycle)battery. then from the fosgate battery to a anl fuse dist. block, then to the fosgate 1500bd(using 2 gauge power wire. on the ground side...under hood i grounded 8" 0/1 gauge wire from the yellow optima to the chasis. in the cargo area, using 0/1 gauge, from chasis bolt to to ground on 2nd battery. then from 2nd battery(o/1 gauge) to a dist. block, then to 1500(2 gauge). also upgraded the alternator to 300 amp and also changed those wires to 0/1 gauge. my fosgate 550x works just fine with no such problems. hope this isnt all confusing and someone can give me some pointers on whats wrong here.

Disconnect the speaker wires and the RCA jacks from the amp.  Does it still go into protect?

for me sounds like a door speaker wire touching the metal sheet.
