Hey guys I'm in the early planning stages for an install in a 2011 F250 Crew Cab.

I know this is probably a simple question for most but I'm having a hard time getting my head around it.

The subs in question are Pioneer TS-SW3001S4's, each rated at 400w RMS.

Lets say I wire them in parallel, resulting in a 2 ohm load at the amp. Do I need an amp that puts out 800w RMS at 2 ohms? Or can I go with say 4 or 600w? Would a mono be best or a bridged 2 channel?

Is parallel even the best way to go or should I go series? And if so what would I be looking for in an amp's ratings then?

Any info is greatly appreciated and if anyone has a specific amp in mind I'm all eyes.

So you want 2, 4 ohm subs at 400rms each. What you need to do is wire them in parallel as stated HERE: https://kicker.com/svc_wiring . This will give you a load of 2 ohms. Your best bet is to choose a mono amp that supplies 800rms @ 2 ohms stable. The 800 watts will be divided between the 2 subs, so you get 400rms each posted_image

If you wired them in series, your load is now 8 ohms, so that 800Wrms 2 ohm mono amp would only deliver 100w rms O.o. Thats 50w rms each speaker lol damn.

Thanks! I've been told anywhere from 600-1000 watts RMS will be fine, just adjust the gain accordingly.
