Hi guys, I have an Alpine MVR-F450 amp powering CDT Audio front and rear stage and a new JL Audio Stealthbox. This setup kicks large BUT I'm having issues with the amp shutting off after about 5 minutes of heavy play. The amp does have visual indicators for overload and fault conditions; neither light up, the amp simply shuts off. After about 15 or 20 seconds, the amp kicks back on and plays for about 3 minutes and shuts down again. I replaced both built in fuses for the amp with the same rating and while I can play a while longer, the same condition exists. Whadda you think, diode....PFT....some other wiring issue?

What is the impedance of the Stealth Box? How did you wire the front and rear speakers at the amp?

Stealthbox impedance is 4 ohms as are all the other components. The amp is a 5 channel amp so all front, rear and sub are connected directly to their related terminals on the amp. All speaker wires are 12ga OFC bare wire to gold plated binding screws and washers at amp terminals. Power cable is 4ga direct from the power distribution centre (PDC) fused at 125A. Ground wire is 12 ga OFC @ 8 inches long using seat mount bracket to floor mounting bolt (wirebrushed before mounting).

All current that goes through the power wire has to go through the ground wire. I do not think a 12Ga ground wire will do that trick. A factory bolt hole does not always provide an adequate ground connection.
