Well I am trying to help a friend out, and i didnt know if they would be a better way to do this.
She has a 07 for expedition eddie bauer edition w/ factory sub.
Her radio with the 6 disc in dash broke. she wanted to buy replacement new from factory but to expensive. So from what I remember factory amplified vehicles with a sub can be a problem when putting in a aftermarket radio.
A) from what I member you have to by pass the factory amp and wire after market speakers to the new deck which means you will lose the amp and sub.
B) is is it possible to use the speakers in truck from factory and a way to still use the amp and sub from factory with a after market non ford head unit?

I've always by passed the factory amp in favor for an aftermarket amp. what i would suggest if nothing turns up here is go to metra, scosche or PAC web sites and they may have a harness that could work for what you want. other suggestions is to call them or crutchfield or ....

Thanks for the reply. for most of the cars I worked on or have done recently... The person wanted to upgrade everything so bypass was ideal.
This person isnt really into bass or anything much so they dont want to spend a ton of money of upgrades. So Im trying to do it as cheap as possible for them with out losing speakers.
I will check with pac and scoshe.

Indeed you can use the factory sub and amp over again with an aftermarket head unit. This truck is easy, use a Metra 70-1761 harness and it will come with a sub harness also. Everything wires right at the radio and the sub will still work fine.

2 things, this truck needs a Chrysler style antenna adapter, Metra part 40CR10. Also, the factory remote wire that turns on the sub amp is 7 volts. Not a problem as the 12volt output of an aftermarket head unit will also turn it on with no damage. A small problem doing this is when it turns on you will get one loud thump noise letting you know it's turning on. You can correct this by adding a resistor inline on the amp turn on wire located on the sub harness.

Also, if you get a head unit that is remote ready you can use a PAC SWI unit to connect the steering wheel controls if you wish.

Does the CD changer not load a disc, not eject a disc, and also not play any of the discs that are in it? Depending on which mechanism they used in that particular deck, it may be very easy to repair. Very Easy.

Another thought is Ebay. Ford radios are pretty universal, you should be able to find one there...
