Just about to install B-quiet in the vehicle and I'm wondering about the factory carpet underlay fastened to the backside of the carpet. The passenger carpet is already out of the vehicle and because it's an older vehicle, the underlay is in poor shape.

I was wondering if the factory underlay is for sound dampening and can now be eliminated OR if it is for carpet comfort and needs to remain?

well, it does double time and does both...I would recommend that you keep the existing underlay at least, and if you can afford it, replace the underlay...you will notice its absence if you dont...

That was exactly what I was wondering. I think I will replace the factory underlay as it is too far gone and I only want to do this once! posted_image (yah right)
