Headunit: Pioneer AVIC X920BT

Amplifier: Pioneer GM-D7500M - Class-D Mono Amplifier with 800 watts Max.  400 Watts x 1 @ 2 ohms

Subwoofer: Pioneer TS-W308D4 12" DVC 4 ohm Subwoofer.  1400 watts peak.  400 watts RMS.

Amp Wiring Kit: < color=#1a75cf>Scosche 680W 8-Gauge Wiring Kit for Single Amps

I had a cheaper Pioneer sub before, & I blew that in 2 days, but I had this subwoofer about 1 month before I blew it.  I was listening to White Girl by Jeezy & it started to smell...  :/  Haha.

The amp's gain is set directly in the middle, no bass boost on amp, no bass boost from radio, subwoofer level set anwhere from -4 - 0 on the headunit.

I'm buying a new 4 gauge amp wiring kit & I'm trying the same subwoofer & amp again.

Why do you guys think I'm blowing the sub?  Too loud & too long & too much bass?

Thank-you!

Nope.  The sub was in a sealed box, although the box wasn't perfectly sealed.  (My friend gave me the box for free).

Whatever is controlling the output level of the radio is what is blowing your speakers.

The gain is too high on the sub amp.

I figured at least you would get that one Howie.  I was talking about an overactive right hand.

Couldn't make the link, right hand drive!
Maybe it's a faulty flux capacitor.

I have been wondering for a long time, On a Right hand drive car, what is the position of the clutch brake and accelerator?  Is the clutch against the transmission hump or next to the door?

I'd say check your voltage drop with a DMM while playing that song and set your subwoofer gain with a DMM meter using the Power=Volts^2/Resistance) formula if you cant really hear the distortion as you set your gains, use a -6db 40-50hz test tone. If you're running the subwoofer @ 2ohms you'll need to get to about 30 volts AC out of your speaker terminals with all bass boosts at 0 (not in the negatives) UNLESS your KNOB is a GAIN knob. Figure that out, my amplifier had me stumped for a while because the knob clearly says "BOOST" on it, yet I called the Manufacturer and they stated that the knob actually controls the gain of the amplifier and the "bass boost" is on the side of the amp. Look into a BIG 3 upgrade if you haven't done that, you may just have bad ground connections. I've blown many subwoofers because of that simple misfortune. Hope it helps!

Very funny you idiot the same, worry more about the wash wipe and indicator/lighting stalks.
Or Mk1 and 2 Golfs with the brake servo actuated by a lever, the servo was still on the left that was a noticeable time lag when you slammed on the brakes, great!
