Hi everyone. First I have a Pioneer deh-44 something I don't remember, a preamp Audiopipe, 4 chan amp Power acoustic 800 watts and a boss monoblock 1000 watts. Speakers are two components Infinity Reference 6 1/2, two 6 1/2 audiobahn 2 way and 15" audiopipe. The problem when I turn the volume up to a point where the music is hitting solid and bass is pounding heavily suddenly the music shuts off and stays in silence for about 3 or 4 seconds then comes again. The amps never go to protection, the preamp never shuts off, the radio neither. Everything stays on it just goes silence and then comes. The other point is that it does it only when the audio is hitting hard when it is at moderate volume or low volume it never shuts off. It is like if you are listening your music and suddenly the radio stops for 3 seconds and then comes again. I don't know whats the problem. Even worst is that this month I just changed almost the entire setup but before I install the new equipment I want to know what tha hell is the problem with this one.

Turn the subs off and see if the High amp still shuts off.  Then disconnect the RCA cables from the High amp and see if the subs shut off.

Also try bypassing the preamp.

Yep I disconnected the subs and crank the volume extremely and it never shuts off. What am I suppose to do then. The sub amp never go to protection so whats the problem??? Does it has to do with not having enough juice for the system??

As I mentioned the setup will change soon. The radio will be a kenwood x494 and the new amp for the components will be a SPL 840 watts. In the future I'll change the sub amp too for a SPL monoblock. If the problem is juice for the system my new setup will have the same pain. What do you advice??

The RCA cable that goes from the preamp to the bass amp, disconnect it from the preamp and connect it directly to the back of the radio.  Does it still cut out?

Yep man I did it and the damn thing keeps happening. What is it then?? If the sub is not hitting everything is fine. Can't believe it. I don't like this and when the new equipment arrives its not gonna be good. What you suggest???

With the bass amp playing at a level just below it is shutting off, what is the voltage reading across the power and ground terminals of the amplifier?  Whay is the lowest reading you see?

Is the reading at the capacitor useful for your question??? If it is then it reads at that moment about 12.3. If this reading is not accurate then how can I do it??

At last I changed the radio for a Kenwood Excelon 494. So I decided to try somethings I learned in the car audio forums and I upgraded two of the Big3 cables first was the block to chassis ground and then battery to chassis. I used 4gauge since my system is not a ground pounder monster but to my surprise the capacitor's voltage reading always was at 12.6 to 13.5 and now it is at 14.3!!!!. The radio is not shutting down anymore and the sub amp is hitting so hard I got to turn down the gains a little since the sub is just an audiopipe 12" in a ported box. It sounds like a 15" posted_image . I will post photos soon to show the horrible install I got right know and how i looks when finished.

Now this is my babies components Infinity Reference posted_image I love them. They are back from 2003 and have travel through 3 cars with me. They still hit unequal. I will only change them for kappa or perfect components.
