I'm looking for the newer style Toyota amplifier (20-pin male molex plug) in working condition. Does anyone know any businesses that supply used OEM radios / amps etc ? Actually, I only need the single Toyota 20-pin Male Molex amp plug that snaps into the back of the radio, but nobody is producing them yet (Toyota, Scosche, Metra etc) for the newer Toyota (2000+) systems. Toyota sells "theft kit" connectors/pigtails but only for their older style radios and amps. Their solution for a replacement connector for their new design amp is just buy a whole new #$% amp ! Give me the specific year and model Toyota and I'll ask my dealer if he has one in stock or not. Tell me if it's a premium system or just the basic. as well.

Model is 2001 Toyota Camry with premium 6 speaker system, but same unit was offered in many 2000 and up Toyotas though...Tundra, LC, 4runner etc. Thx

That's the system where you have to unplug the harness from other wires just behind them in the dash, and then use those other connectors to hook into a harness like the Metra 70-1761, right?

ESmith, Actually no...Metras 70-1761 and 71-1761 are Toyotas classic (1990 - present) universal speaker connector pairs that plug into the back of all Toyota internally amplified radios as well as their external amplifiers. That speaker -to-amp style plug is still currently being used by Toyota. Its the radio-to-amp harness connector (where an external amp is employed) that changed in 2000 from a 15 pin connector to a 20 pin connector. The newer design amp I'm looking for carries Toyota p/n 86280-35080. I guess the aftermarket takes a while to catch up to the OEMs as far as harness and connector kits go. Seems a shame to have to buy a complete new OEM amp rather than a couple $1.29 molex pigtails just to get the new radio to plug into my old OEM amp.

Viking, I'm not sure where you're located, but I'd just go visit some junkyards.
Don't tell the people at the junkyard any fancy story about a factory amp...that'll just make them want to charge you more. Just tell them you need the plug from behind the radio, and of course look at it first to make sure it's the right plug.
If the junkyard lets you pull off your own parts, it will be even better. A plug with a few inches of wire on it looks almost worthless, and they shouldn't charge you much for it.
