Hey Everyone,

I have a few questions about replacing the old subs in my car and installing new ones in the same box.

First off I think I have the subs narrowed down to two selections. I wanted to get opinions as to which one would be a better fit for my situation based on the provided specs I got from the internet. Also If anyone had different selection that I may not have considered. There are some restrictions though. I have an Alpine MRP-M500 running 250 watts per sub at 2 ohms. The box is .75 cubic feet per enclosure. The current cutout diameter is 9 1/16 inches. The usable depth id about 7 inches. here are the specs of the two subs, an MTX TR5510-04 and and Elemental Designs 11Kv.2

I also wanted to asked one more question. The sub that I an replacing is an MTX Thunder 4000. How much with the cutout diameter be a factor when installing the new subs. If my new sub is a very close match in mounting diameter will it still install with little to no problem. Thanks in advance.

I modeled both of those in WinISD for your .75 ft3 box and 250W you should go with the MTX by a landslide because the 11Kv.2 wants a ported box. I also modeled the Alpine SWS-1043D and it was very close to the MTX but you would definitely have to make your hole bigger while the MTX will probably squeeze in. I based my research on the manuals for all three.
