Does anyone know how to remove the rear door panels on the NBS Silverado crew cabs? I have a set of Polk 6.5"s to replace the factory speakers, just cannot figure out how to get the panel off.
i cant remember exactly how to but i can tell you what i do know and give you a check list of what to look for.
this is what i know:
there should be a little plate behind the door handle that is hiding some screws, and maybe another false panel behind the handle on the arm rest. after you find the screws, the door panel itself will pop off by pulling it towards you. the plastic snaps that hold it on will be fresh and tight so your best bet would be to find something flat that you can get between the panel and the actual door to try to pry it open, i have a little mini crow bar that i like to use for this.
once you pop the snaps that hold the bottom and sides the door panel should lift up but you will need to take the lock knob off first by popping out the little square that is in the middle and it will just lift off.
once the door panel is free you will need to disconnect the line that connects to the back of the door handle, you will need a pick or a small flathead screwdriver to unsnap it from where it mounts.
incase i forgot something just make sure you check all around the door for extra screws or bolts. the only thing that should be kind of hard to do is to release the snaps that hold the door by grabbing the bottom of the door pulling straight towards you, everything else should be almost effortless so if something seems like it is harder than it should be then i would check for more screws hidden under any other false panels like the ones behind the door handle.
hope that helps
