wiring soundstream bx 12

I have a 2002 f150 with a amp for subs and i use to have an amp for highs but that is no longer in there so i want to know how would i wire the power to this soundstream bx12 should i just grab power from the current amp i have a run a long wire from the headunit to get a 12volt ? and for the remote turn on i could just use the one from my current amp.

      i would run the main power staightfrom the battery. if that is already there is it big enough wire to suply the new amp? the remote wire should be fine providing ur putting the new amp in the same place as before. soundstream amps are useally really nice amps i just got a 900 watt rms and im useing a 4 gage power wire make sure ur wire is big enough it makes alot of differnce in sound output

But the gauge for the old amp is to big compared to the gauge of the wire adapter to the soundstream bx 12 bass restorer

ok i was thinking amp but your talking enhancer.  i looked up you bx 12 and it didnt have any wire size requirements that i could see and the plugin for the power, remote,and ground looked small so im thinking just hook it up like a radio a constant source split the remote and ground it but im no installer, a bass restorer  is about the only thing i havent hooked up. use a fuseable link to any good constant power suply and it should be enough, ur amp pulls all the power

If the bass restorer has 12 volt, remote, ground and the MAIN power wire will support the amperes then you should use a distribution block to power the two different components. ALL wires OUT of the block would need Circuit protection based on wire size and maximum amperes that each unit sees as safe. Ground all to one location with proper grounds. Remote might be able to handle both turn on functions split as in a"Y". but depends on how much you Head unit can support in miliamps on the remote wire. usually like 200miliamps. How is it wired now?
