i have a mtx box that weighs 100 lbs and two alpine type r that weigh 24 lbs each and my amps racks etc wieghs in around 60lbs total so thats too much weight when you add two people in the back and a full gas tank. so my question is i want something that same in sound or louder light but one sub.

what i want to use for the fronts doors rears is (2)PDX-F4  and the subs to buy in question(1)  MRP-M2000

my current system

alpine 4x6, 5 1/4, 6x9 for the pdx f-4

replacement subs MRP-M2000

you could go with some shallow mount subs, that could lighter, or maybe look at the weights of three tens? or eights? similar cone area but smaller sub, i dont know just an idea. and for the box you could build a fiberglass enclosure

first, the weight difference between a 12 and a 10 of the same sub is typically maybe 2 pounds more or less. if you want to save weight then go with a single 12 or 15 in a fiberglass box and you should be able to cut the weight by maybe a third. other than that you would have to change your entire setup with saving weight as your main priority.

So heres the update im going to get one alpine type x size 12 and have the measurements 32*15*8=1.54 sealed. I rather have ported but I couldn't find a small ported box as for amps I'm going to get the ones posted above .before I make my final decision I'm going to google the items to see if its a weight difference. If its less than 40 I'm going to leave my setup be.
