First figure out how much space is available where you want to put the sub. Don't worry about size or brand till you know where you want it and how much space is available. Too many times a customer has the PERFECT setup and it's not realistic to put it where they want it. What type of music do you listen to? ported boxes are bigger than sealed. I just put an 8inch fosgate in a 61 corvette with custom kick panels. The sub was hidden behind the kick panel with the car becoming the box( already fiberglass, much reinforcement needed) This has to be decided first. What about a center console? too many variables. many people on this site can help but we would need your help to get you the results you want.

so...
1 pair of speakers
1 subwoofer
1 amp for subwoofer
Do you want to amp your door speakers?
Do you also need a head unit?
If you have one what is it?
How tall can your box be?
Also were you planning on installing sound deadening?

Ok we should be able to help you build a good system for that budget.
You might want to consider a new HU if your upgrading everything else. Take a look at some pioneer, alpine, kenwood, eclipse (if you can find any), clarion. look for preamp outputs with higher voltages = cleaner signal to amps...speakers. you should be able to find something in the $150-250 range.

Using your measurements you have plenty of space behind your seat. Over 6000 cubic inches of volume at 1728 cubic inches per ft. depending on how you mount your sub the depth can be an issue. that sub you want has a mounting depth of over 8 inches. this would be a challenge(NOT impossible....maybe)because you also need room for excursion so it doesn't hit your seat. don't get caught up with the whole RMS war. A quality install with properly built enclsore will knock peoples socks off( yours included) A Kicker L7 10 solobaric has a depth of just 6.5 inches( much better fit) A square 10in has more surface area and I like the kicker line so I would start there. Since you have an amp for the doors go with a mono amp for the sub. the ZX line by kcker would match up great and being a class D it would be tolerant of tight confines. Co axial speakers aimed correctly would sound great. Keep in mind that separates are not typically supposed to be separated by more than the diameter of the woofer. this helps to prevent out of phase cancellations.

sound deadening in the doors at least should be mandatory. If you can afford more then great because the quieter you make your truck the louder it will be. What I suggested should easily fit the budget you have. But obviously many combinations are possible. And I looked again and the depth of the orion is ALMOST 9 inches. I would not personnaly try to shoehorn that thing in there. easier options that would sound fantastic IMO.

If you were looking at that Orion then you obviously want an SPL (LOUD!!!) woofer right?
I am also assuming you are able to build a box?
And run wires to your door speakers?
I've got a few options in mind but I'd like to make sure thats what your going for.

looks like im limited on my mounting depth of 6.5in....... can anyone sugest any subs in the 1000 wat range with 6.5 or less mounting depth? are the shallow mount subs any good? i found an re audio 10 with a 6in mounting depth are they any good?

the shallow mount subs are fine. they do a great job, BUT it is not the same as the sub you were initially inquiring about. You have to decide what you want to do with the space available. There are subs not considered SHALLOW mount that will fit in there. How about a pair of 8's in a PERFECTLY built enclosure. you would have great transient response and play lower than the SHALLOW 10's can do to excursion limits of that design. If you have never heard what a properly built ported 8 can do then you have been missing out. Personnaly I get a bigger kick out of knocking people over with install quality than quantity. And I have never had a customer regret yet. Pick out well engineered components placed in great locations with care to install with perfection in mind and you can be just as happy with the 8's( maybe even 4 of them WOW) than you would be with the 10's.

My friend has 2 Diamond D1's in a dual chamber ported box I built for him with a Hifonics 2 ch amp @ 300w rms each. The volume of each chamber was about 1.5 cuft and the ports were 4" pvc 12" long which tuned it to about 35~40 Hz. I built them based on diamonds recommended ported enclosure before I even new about this site. I can hear him coming a half mile or so away and they are loud and clear inside the car also. I wish I would have tuned the box a little lower though(30~35Hz), they would sound a lot better I think. He bought them in a sealed box and they weren't that loud, but he also had a pos amp only giving them 150rms if he was lucky.
I like the idea of something like a JL 8W7 (or 2) in a well designed ported box with about 500 Watts of CLEAN power going to it(them).
I wouldn't go for the Jensen amp. I can tell you what a HUGE difference a quality amp does make.
Also just about anything that you put in that truck of yours will be loud as bananas because of how small it is.

I am in agreement with zO3. You seem to be focused on LOUD though which is different than what you had mentioned earlier. Remember LOUD is relative. If you take that setup he gave you with the hifonics amps and the 8's, and then dynamat your truck very well, you would percieve it as LOUDER based on a lower noise floor. Your truck is small, and a well built box( ported in your case as it seems you want the additional boost provided by tuning the port) with 8's or whatever will fit should surprise you. measure the space again, make a chipboard box to see if it all fits and then no guess work. with you earlier measurements you could fit 4-8's easy....thats alot of cone area.

i made a blueprint with the measurements and made cut outs of a few speakers and the jl 10w7 will fit ive also looked at re sxx 10, d6's an an orion xtrpro 10. they all fit accourding to my templates. i am leaning towards to jl or orion

So if you know what fits how can I/we help you. Either of those subs will perform well for you. Now if you want balance and enjoyability across different genres you need to get the front stage correct with some sound deadening.

well ive got it narrowed down now i need to know what amps to be looking at and component speakers and amp to get for them

first suggestion. the fosgate t6004. its got a great 24db crossover and the specs would fit the subs you say you have/getting. they make a great coaxial in a line they call the power series. coaxials are easier to set up/install and you dont have tuning issues with the speakers fighting over getting the wave to you. you can make a set of seperates sound awefull if you dont have the experience, time, and testing equipment for a proper install. if you decide on seperates then make sure that the tweet is no more than the diameter of the cone away from the midwoofer. ther is my first suggestion for ya. should be in budget i think also.
