Hi all, i just bought 2 kicker l7s off ebay, and it came in a crappy sealed box. i need some enclsoure dimension ideas for a ported box.

they are going to be in a 1997 4runner. i want them facing the rear(sub/port). i want them in their own chambers(so 2 seperate ports),

the subs are dual 2 ohm each, and is going to be powered by a kicker 2500.1 amp down to 2 ohms stable.

please help me out with some ideas.:)

thanks

I would go with 2.5 cu.ft. NET. Port at 33 square inches of port are and 16.5 inches deep (per sub).

port volume will be .32 cu.ft. So each chamber needs to be 2.82 cu.ft.(Not including any internal bracing)

5.64 cu.ft. GROSS internal for the total enclosure(not figuring internal bracing).

Thats a good amount of power for those subs. They will handle it if your smart with it. You will not want to do the larger recommended enclosure with that kinda power. Also in your vehicle that enclosure and tune should be plenty loud and clean.

your looking at it being like 21 inches tall then and not really ideal from what I remember of those 4 runners.

This would get you done just fine. Enclosure outside dimensions 36"W x 14.75"H x 23"L. The port is 2.5"W x 13.25"H x 16.5"L

You could also do external of 38"W x 14.75"H x 21.75"L with the same port. If it will fit better. Both will put you right on your target 2.5cu.ft NET per sub. Need anything else just let me know.
