Ok, I have a Kicker ZR460 oldschool amp and it has an internal module in AMP 2 that has a Highpass or bypass switch and swappable chips of 60hz, 80hz or 100hz with a 24db / Octave slope.
I want to add Kicker Midbass drivers RMB6 (frequency range 30-500 according to manufacturer) to this amp.
I am guessing I use this module in highpass with a (?hz) chip?
Does the highpass mean I am not getting anything below and everything above? Or because of the 24db octave slope does it mean I am getting some above and some below whatever chip I choose? Don't quite understand the highpass thing in conjunction with the 24db slope.
Ideally I want to hit a range of about 60-300 in the midbass.
To achieve what you are wanting to do will require another outboard crossover to be used in conjunction with the one in the amp. You must feed the amp 300Hz and down (an outboard crossover set to low pass and to 300Hz ), then set the amp's crossover to high pass at 60Hz.

High pass means "from here up" Low means "from here down" The slope is how fast it stops the choosen frequency. It's not like building a wall.
Look at it like a screen (filter) with different sized holes in it. The sreen is the chosen xo point. I don't have a good analogy for the slope.
Be carefull of capping off the highs too low on your 6.5, you will have a void of freq. if you are using it in conjunction with just a tweeter.
Best bet, set your high pass at 60 to 70 cycles and just let it roll off. Choose the slope to please your ears.

I used to have that amp and I, too, used it for midbass (2 8" down by my feet). They have a module that will do a "band pass crossover" and that is what I used. I have no idea what the availability of those modules are today, but I do know they had one at one point.
