Any idea why the ground wire sparks and is hot when I attach it? According to wiring diagrams it is hooked up right. It has me stumped. Any suggestions? The radio is a Sony and it is going in an 84 Ford LTD.

Thanks.

Is the unit on when you are hooking it up?

Could be shorted, try hooking up only the red, yellow and black, if still sparks or blows fuse, problem with radio,

If it is a radio, it is either improperly connected or it is broken.  What size fuse does the radio have inserted next to the power harness?
