I was confused by the use of different equipment in the different documents, what subs and amp are you going to use?

"Extreme temperatures and Humidity" will not cause particle board to crack, chip or warp. But I agree that it is not an ideal material(also that has nothing to do with it's tensile strength). You should ALWAYS use at least 3/4" MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) unless you are really tight on space and need to use 1/2". Also birch plywood is stronger than MDF and although it can have imperfections they will not cause any vibrations or buzzing if you build the box well.

The main strength of a wooden enclosure comes from the GLUE so be sure to use enough and make your joints as flush as you can. Screws work more to hold the joint together while the glue dries so brad nails work just as well.

The general design looks good. I am assuming you are using some dividers in the enclosure to separate each sub based on your volume calculations?
