Are you replacing the factory speakers?  If so then you should use one amplifier channel per speaker.  If you are trying to use the factory speakers, then power the factory amp.

Yea, not much to gain if you aren't replacing it all. Chances are the factory amp/speakers are gonna sound better anyway. If it was mine i would leave it alone and maybe just add a subwoofer/amp...

for now i am keeping the factory speakers and there is a problem with the factory amp.thats way i am replacing it with a low power amp. the oem head unit non navi is time for a upgrade. to 7inch dvd.

i dont even see how the panels come out to get to the oem amp anyway.

is it true the  mids and highs are 4 ohm and the low speakers are 2ohm?

so i really cant wire all the speakers in one door with out dropping the ohms to 1ohm

Dunno, but i might guess that since the factory amp has separate channels for each speaker there is a good possibility it also contains the crossovers. This is something you will need to address...

If you're not replacing with all new components then you need a factory stereo wiring diagram.  Your local professional install shop probably has access to one, or you can buy it from your VW dealer.

He needs a stereo wiring diagram if he's trying to keep his factory speakers and replace the factory amp so he can find out how the speakers are wired, if there are any crossovers or if it's using active crossovers, and the wiring color code at the factory amp location.  Well to be completely honest he doesn't NEED it as it could be figured out, but it sure would make his life easier.  posted_image

I think that's pretty much been covered on page 1.

There is no ignition wire in this car as the radio is data controlled. Best bet is the fuse box for a switched power...

What adapter did you use? Do you have 1 or 2 antenna leads in the car?

If there's just one you need an amplified adapter, like the 40EU55. If there are 2, we add 40EU55's and aY adapter to make it work...

The 40EU10 will no work as it is not amplified. We have found that even using a single 40EU55 you still only get FM. If you want full reception including AM you need to use 2 40EU55's and a 40UV43 adapter to connect them together.
