I've searched and haven't found anything that might point me in the right direction. I used the wiring diagram but the Kappa 100.9 can only be wired like a SVC speaker but infinity claims that. https://www.infinitysystems.com/car/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=KAPPA100.9W&cat=KAP&ser=KAP&Language=ENG&Country=US&Region=USA
I picked up an Infinity Perfect 10DVQ dual 4ohm voice coil speak from sonic a while back and was running is solo using my PDX-5.
I just came across a NIB close out on a Kappa 100.9 "triple"??? voice coil selectable 2/4ohm 10" for nearly next to nothing.
The Kappa 100.9 uses what Infinity describes as a MidQ so I can match that motor w/ my Perfect 10DVQ so now the motor forces are the same. The RMS on the 100.9 is 350 watts/max 1200 and the RMS on the Perfect 10DVQ is 400/max 1400 watts.
I want to run a PDX6 which is 600 rms but should test closer to 700 so i am fine RMS wise.
I am curious how to wire the speakers.
1) They will be in seperate boxes due to space constrants.
2) the boxes will be .70ish CU sealed.
The problem lies in that the 100.9 has one set of terminals where the switch is so there is no real way to wire it like it is a DVQ but according to Infinity the selectability of it makes the amp think it is either 2 or 4 ohm.
How would I wire this set up?
I'm thinking wire the Perfect 10DVQ in series then to the box terminal.
and wire the Kappa 100.9 selected to 4 ohm parallel to the box terminal. The I'll split the power wires leaving the amp, to the boxes and i'm thinking that should net me 4 ohms.
any thoughts??
