hi can you please help me . i have a boss audio bv9996b. and i want to install this in my friends car, but i cant find any wire stereo diagrams
, like what wires go where. and i seen something online about onstar. do i have to worry about this. i dont know much onstar. i helped out friends before installing car decks, but never a indash dvd, any tip on installing indash dvd, my friends truck is a 2010 gmc canyon. thanks. joseph..

As long as it's not a Bose system in the truck I suggest using the Pac Audio OS-2C module and the optional CM1 . This will give you the easiest way to replace the OEM deck and still retain all OEM features.

please dont cut the plug off, buy a wire harness. if its not a bose system you CAN just buy a normal basic harness which will already be color coded to match your aftermarket stereo however you will lose all of your warning chimes which run through the factory radio. the only extra thing you will need to do is you will have to run an ignition because you dont have one in the factory stereo harness. on the 2010 you will also need to use a relay to amplify the ignition feed because the stock ignition at the ignition harness is probably low current.
OR buy the correct harness that will retain all of your warning chimes and provide an ignition source which will save you some headache. its your choice.
