Can anyone explain how one would use a voltmeter to check and see if a car radio is emmitting sound to all speakers. I know i can hook a speaker up to the wires but this way i could backprobe the clips and not have to splice in or disconnect anything. I understand they emmit wattage but how can this be checked with my dvom.

thank u

I would start by hooking up a speaker to one output and verifying that that speaker output is working.

Then, I would disconnect the speaker and put the meter on the two wires. Set the meter to AC voltage.

Note the measurement on the output you KNOW works.

Then test the other three and compare to the first. It would be nice if you had a repeating test tone so the signal never changes.
