how to upgrade speakers on 2007 sentra?

Hi all,

I have a 2007 Sentra and I was just looking into upgrading my speakers to something with a better quality.
First off, what is the quality specs of the factory speakers?
Second, is their a guide on how to remote the front panel to change the front speakers?
Third, if I am only looking for upgrading the speakers without touching the factory deck, is their a point in doing it? would the quality be noticeably better is I put some after market speakers, like Pioneer?

Quality spec of your OEM speakers = not near as good as even the cheapest Pioneer speakers. 

I do not know of a guide to help with removing the door panel, is it possible for you to take and post a picture of the door panel?

Yes even without changing the radio, you will notice an improvement in sound, once again even using the 2 way Pioneer speakers.

Are there any visible screws?  Look in the pocket in which you grab to close the door, and also in the area behind the door handle.  If no screws, I will get one of my installers to look at the pictures to see if they have any help to offer.

Look just in front of the door lock lever, there is a slot cut into the backing trim piece of the door handle.  It needs to come off to expose the screw behind it.  Look along the bottom of the door, there may be some screws there.

Got that part, thanks, should not be a big deal from what it looks...

some people suggest suggest 3-way upfront and 2-way at the back? is it true?
also, is 5-way an overkill? or I can do the same with 5-way in front and 4-way in back?

I found pioneer with a really good reviews, but they 3-way....
if I get 4 of them(2 frond and 2 back, the exact model), in this case, would that be "ok" to put the 3-way in back?

anything past a 3-way coaxial is just for marketing in my oppinion.  but there is no right or wrong, you can do whatever you want. i will caution you to watch the depth and sizes of the magnets of whatever speakers you do end up buying because the sentra doesnt have much space in the doors unless you want to do a little cutting

Even in a simple speaker upgrade a you can also consider a basic pair of component speakers with the separate tweeters as well. That will really clear up the stock sound and brighten the sound. As far as 3-way/4-way/5-way, I feel anything more than a 2-way is a waste. You want the cleanest sound and depth for you buck. When companies start throwing tiny speakers off axis to get a higher count, you end up with drivers that produce sound you won't even hear or if you do it will actually "muddy" it up. A good 2-way has a built in cap to act as a basic x-over for the tweeter on the speaker. It will blend the line between mid and tweet cleaner and clearer.

Also don't lock yourself into only one brand. I feel Pioneer is a great brand for electronics, i.e. head units, nav units, ect. but I have tried their amps, speakers and subs and have felt that they just lack any depth that other similar and even less expensive lines have proved.

What ever you do...just have fun with it. Car audio is a blast and I MUST WARN YOU IT IS A GATEWAY HOBBY TO OTHER BIGGER AND MORE EXPENSIVE ELECTRONIC HABITS...
