I searched but couldn't find an answer. Is there a way to hook up an aftermarket stereo that doesn't turn off when the key is turned off? I want my aftermarket stereo to "behave" like a stock stereo. Stay on when key turned off, shuts off after 10 min or so, or shuts off when the door is opened.
On my 2006 Cobalt I was able to hook up my stereo so that it "behaves" like stock. Can it be done in my Silverado?
Thanks

You can get a Metra GMRC-01 online for about $46. It will give you the RAP(Retained Accessory Power), an ignition turn on lead, and also retain the door chime.

Yeah I got the GMRC-01 and installed it. Works like a charm! Thanks
I though I could hook it up like my Cobalt stereo. In the Cobalt I put a fused lead in an empty slot in the fuse panel and it works like stock. I couldn't find any slots or fuses like that in the Silverado.
Thanks again!
