Install a two pin toggle switch inline of the remote turn on lead of the stereo. This will allow you to turn on and off the remote turn on lead thus turning on / off the amplifier. posted_image

Hey Jeff,

Along the same topic line, if I use a glowing toggle switch, it is okay to use the remote turn on wire as the switched power source?

If you're using a glowing toggle switch in the same manner (remote lead on/off switch), then yes it's ok. I've done it before. If I remember right, the only difference is an extra terminal on the back of the switch for ground. If you want to be safe, you can always still test the load at the amp when you turn on the switch and make sure it's still receiving the required voltage. But like I've said, I've done this before with no problems.

Hey squirrel,

I didn't think it would cause a problem, as I vaguely remember doing that a few years ago. I just wanted to check my logic with someone else because my bright ideas always come after 45 hours of no sleep. Thanks buddy!!
