hi all

recently i got my hands on a rockford p600.1bd amp and a cerwin vega stroker 12" d2 sub

the amp specs as below

Number of Channels      1
----
(RMS Continuous Power)      325 Watts x 1 @ 4-Ohms
600 Watts x 1 @ 2-Ohms
Total Power
(Sum of Rated Power)      600 Watts
------
Not Bridgeable

the sub specs as below (but Im not sure about the specs, coz i found them on the net and couldnt find a certified cerwin vega manual or specs for this sub)

1000 WATTS RMS. 500 WRMS PER VOICE COIL
DUAL VOICE COIL, IMPEDANCE 2 OHMS PER VOICE COIL
-------

all are hooked up and ready, i just need to know how to wire this sub to my amp and get the most out of both of them

thanks

If this is a dual 2 ohm sub, and your amp is only stable to 2 ohms, You can either series the voice coils to run 4 ohms at the amp, or just hook up one voice coil to run 2 ohms.

thanx for the reply

my question is :
-if i run the voice coils in series i will get 4ohm
and my AMP will only supply 325watts rms to the sub, right ??

-if i run only 1 voice coil from the sub to the amp
it will be 2ohm load so my amp will be suplyin 600watts rms
to the sub, right ??

if this is right, so running one voice coil at 2ohm would be
better coz im feedin it more power, but will 1 voice coil
be able to take those 600watts rms since 1 voice coil is only
500rms ??

thanks

Yes one voice coil gets the most power, If you do not distort it and set the gains properly you should be fine.  If the voice coil goes bad, use the other one!

Its never good to set the gain on your amp to max volume. Your power ratings are also RMS not peak so using the amp at around 3/4 gain should keep the amp, sub, and ears all happy
