I want to install my own 10" speakers in my trunk with there own box. My problem is, its my first subaru and the stereo is not a normal deck i can hook my rca connections in, and up to my box, to have my subs work. Is this even possible to do? Do I have to splice into the harness (which i do NOT want to do) or can i install my aftermarket box into my trunk?

yes, what you need is called a line output converter or LOC. it taps onto a set of speaker wires and uses the signal to create an RCA output which your amp can then use. look for PAC SNI-15.

Thank you but I just want to make sure i get the right loc. I have a 2000watt amp and im assuming the loc has a hook up for the reciever as well for the amp? Also the PAC SNI-15 Line Output Converter For Adding Amplifier Converts from receivers 10 to 20 RMS watts per channel. Is that the right RMS watts per channel for a 2009 subaru legacy?

I am trying to install my line output converter in a 2009 subaru lagacy stock amp (7-channel harman kardon amplifier with digital signal processing dsp) I cant find any specs on the amp to know what pins I need to wire to for my loc. Anyone got the specs on that amp? please help me.

Factory subwoofer colors at the amp should be: BROWN / white (+) pin 4, green (-) pin 10
