dvc to mono amp wiring problems

I bought a pair of Polk Audio DXi 124DVC at 4 ohms and tried wiring them to my Kenwood KAC9105D Class D mono amplifier. It says it has 1 ohm capabilities, but that's what it SAYS. I tried both the 4 ohm and 1 ohm wiring options from the diagram off of this website but i am not getting ANY sound out of the subs. The amp powers up and all, but nothing from the subs. I am confused and i have tried everything, even just trying to hook up one sub instead of two and i put each + and - from the dual voice coils to the terminals (there are 4, two of each) and still nothing.

Please help.

First thoughts that came to mind reading this: make sure the amp is getting audio from your head unit! Make sure the rca cables are good and that they are plugged in at both ends.

If you get no sound at all and the amp is on and not in protect, then the problem is not likely the wiring of the subs or the amp, but instead is likely the head unit or rca cables (unless the rca inputs on the amp are broken internally).

got a replacement amp and i tried getting continuity from + to - on the speaker terminals, i get a light when i go from one of those to the remote wire, but not from pos. to neg. would i not get this if the RCA cables were out?

I just installed brand new rca cables and still the same thing, no continuity to the speaker terminals. i may be wrong but there should be some sort of power going from the positive to the negative terminals. im just using a test light, i have no other idea what to do.

UPDATE: ok so i have the subs now working, the problem was with my car, not the amp or subs. i had one of the rear speakers disconnected from my audi a4 and that caused everything in the rear to short out including my subs... so i have them working but now they sound very distorted. i hooked them up at 1 ohm impedance to my kac9105d mono block, should i hook them up for 4 ohm or should i invest in a 2 channel amp...?

Try disconnecting one of the woofers. If it sounds better with one than with 2 you have them out of phase. If no difference do you have a box with the appropriate airspace?
