My system has a nasty buzz from the alternator and I don't know where to start on finding the source.  It also seems to be cutting out my HU and cycling the power on and off

Thanks

Probably a ground loop or a bad RCA cable.  Try to isolate where it is coming from. I would start by putting a jumper wire from the outer RCA shield to the chassis of the radio, see if that makes a difference.

I think the first reply is correct.  I've been too busy to check it out but I think bad rca cables might be to blame.  most of the system has been professionally installed so I"m guessing the wires are run correctly but the AUX and the XM were added by me using some cheap rca cables.  I"m going to make some changes on memorial day and see if the problem is fixed

Thanks

Erik
