Interested in opinions on some of the differences there might be between running one amp at 1ohm to get 1,600 RMS vs running two identical amps at 2ohm to get the same 1,600 RMS watts?
More specifically two DB Drive SPA1600d's amps vs only using one amp....they would be driving two kicker 12"l7's which are 750rms9(1,500RMS total) each.
Would running the dual amps give me better SQ or something? It would seem like running the two amps versus one would have to be superior in some way even though they would be resulting in the same output. Not sure?

It would be the same output, but with less wasted heat, beter efficiency, higher damping and lower distortion.
Definitely a better option IMO.
------------- It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

2 amps running at 2ohms would sound slightly louder and be clearer and better sound quality.
