Subject: good 5 chanel amp recommendation?

I had a kappa five 5 channel amplifier powering my stock front and rear speakers as well as my infinity 12" sub. For some reason my amp isn't working. My sub comes on for the first few seconds after I start my car but then cuts off. My sub still plays but barely. I can feel it still moving. My sub never really was loud enough for me. And now it's just really bad. Every now and then my sub will kick back on making music unbearable.

I am looking for a new amp and need some recommendations. I have a camaro 2010 and my box and amp are all in the trunk. I want to be able to feel the bass when driving, not hear it, if possible. (since it's in the trunk)

Thanks guys! Looking to buy tomorrow!

I woudl recommend the Kenwood XR5S or the Alpine PDX 5. Both are solid five channels, pushing more power I believe then the Kapp, and I;ve installed multiple of each, and they perform quite well.

I have put in several of the Kicker zx700.5 and the Kenwood XR5S. I have nothing bad to say about either one. Both deliverd suprising power and very clear.

Alpine has a new amp called the MRX-V60 which is essentially a cheaper version of the PDX series. It is a 5 channel, and has 50w x 4 and 300w x 1. Very clean little amp with decent power for the money!

kicker 700.5 is my new fave.

powerful and clean ....keep it cool if you run 2 ohms. if you are running 4 ohm set-ups, heating doesnt seem to be a huge problem.

the last one i installed showed 932 watts on the birth certificate

THe V60's sub channel seems to be a little weak in my experiences with them so far, done a couple and havent been super excited so far.

It's 300w. For a space saver design it is ideal. For maximum output, it is weak. You are correct about that, but if space is a great concern, and budget is a factor as well, I have found nothing better! Obviously for more money there are bigger amps (in physical size and wattages) out there. Just depends on how much space you want to give up to good sound!
