I bought a Memphis Mojo D2 12" in an enclosure off a guy on craigslist, and he didn't know what the box was tuned to, and I am wondering if theres any simple way to figure it out? My sub his VERY hard in the low notes, but extremely low is pretty quiet, and mid/high bass is almost non existent, my old 12" Type-R D4 in a 2.5 cube box with a 35hz port had amazing all around sound, just wasn't very loud. I want a mixture of both, if possible.

There are ways to figure this out, but chances are you do not have the required equipment. If you could give us the internal dimensions of the enclosure, along with the dimensions of the port or ports. Someone may be able to help you.

You can play tones only, when you hit a frequency where the subs appear to not be moving very much, that would be pretty close.

The OP's description reminds me of what a bandpass enclosure sounds like... buying an enclosure "off a guy on Craigslist" means you get what you get so you can only hope for the best - and be ready to replace it if it sucks. ------------- Support the12volt.com

Chances are if it was an awesome sounding enclosure, he would not have been selling it on CraigsList.
