is there any foreseeable reason why i shouldn't/couldn't Run 2 12 in dual 2 ohm 600 watt rms rockford P3's wired to 2 ohms at the amp which is a mono Boston GTA-1000M 1000 watts rms @ 2ohms?

I'm asking because the alternative would be the rockford T1000-1bdCP at twice the cost... so what would be the downfalls of going woth the boston?

As lomg as the amp can handle the impedance, there's no problem.  Be sure you set the gain correctly.
