Hey guys,

Installing a new JVC KD-HDR70 in my 1999 Mazda Miata. I have the scosche MA02B connector harness and have a question.

The car and the scosche connector have both an Illumination/Dash light wire(Orange) as well as a dimmer wire(ORANGE / white). The JVC radio has a single illumination wire(ORANGE / white).

Can I assume I connect the JVC radio illumination wire(ORANGE / white) with the Scosche Illumination/dash wire(Orange) and not use the dimmer wire on the scosche?

What exactly is the Illumination/dash wire doing?

Thanks in advance.

Craig

OK did the install. I hooked the radio "Illumination" wire to the "Illumination/Dash" wire of the Scosche adapter connector and I suspect its not hooked up right. If I turn on the headlights the radio doesnt dim until I use the cars dimmer control and dim the display. Then the radio display will dim.

Could the Scosche connector be mis-marked? I intentionally didnt want to use the Scosche "Dimmer" wire thinking I didnt want to be on the dimmer control which in the end appears what I have.

Thoughts?

Craig

OK problem resolved.....Looks like I shoulda stuck with color coding and disregarded the terminology conflict as I reconnected both ORANGE / white wires(JVC said Illumination and Scosche calls it Dimmer) and now the radio display dims nicely when the headlights are turned on.
