Hello I have a 2011 Ford F150 that I have upgraded all the speakers and added amps. This truck has a center channel speaker that I would like to keep running with the factory amp for a little added fill but I want to tone it down a little. Can I add a resistor in line to do this? If so any guess what ohm and wattage resistor to use?

If you want to halve the speaker power (~2/3rds the volume??), then the same resistance as the speaker, and at least half the wattage.

But can't you attenuate the input signal instead?

I dont know of a way to attenuate it. The aftermarket head unit is connected to the SYNC system that is then connected to the factory amp. As far as I know there is no level adjustment on the amp. I will try the resistor and I will have to guess on the wattage.
