Installing a Clarion VX401 on a 07 Scion TC.  Is there a way to do the video through a relay rather than a toggle switch?  Yes I know its not legal to have video when your driving.

Thanks

Yes, it is possible. ebay is loaded with bypass setups like this one:

i bought my bypass relay for my pioneer from ebay, easy install, works great

However... if you know how to wire the relay (which i don't) you can easily bypass it yourself for cheaper

Ok, the link got chopped... just search your model of head unit on ebay and add "bypass" to the end, it'll come up

Those ebay bypasses are more than just a relay. the clarion needs to see ground after the radio has completely boots up and remain at ground for as long as you want to view the DVD. to make something and avoid using a switch you'd have to make a timer circuit and use the remote turn on to trigger it

idk, like i said i don't know how to wire it myself. it was called a relay for mine, and came with wiring destructions that were simple to follow. haven't had an issue since, and has worked every time.
