I have the amp in the title and I ordered a plug of of ebay. The plug does not have the stock colors. I have looked everywhere for the stock diagram and I can't find it. Here is all I was able to come up with: (I'll do my best with illustrating).

This would be with the amp lettering right side up (plug installed, clip on top)

The top three wires from left to right are red, black, brown.

I'm pretty sure this is correct. If so, all I need are the bottom three. If I'm incorrect, can someone please tell me the color code for this plug. Thank you.

Orange is directly under the black wire. Yellow is directly under the brown wire. The slot under red is empty.

I will be shocked if that amp still works. There is a problem with the Preamp input board on 99% of those amps. There were capacitors that leaked fluid and destroyed the board. It is the stand up board just behind the RCA input jacks. You can see the damage.

Symptoms are lots of static one either or both channels. No output at all from either or both channels.

Thanks "I am". I just looked at the board in question, and I wish I could post pics. My camera isn't up to it. Macro might as well be mega.

The reason I bothered getting the plug was because I opened it up and the board was immaculate, (the whole thing). I just dealt with an Orion 222 SX burning up so I was looking for visual cues of that nature. Since I didn't see any, I bought the plug. Upon further inspection, the board you describe looks as if it's seen an inordinate amount of heat right around the middle where it connects to the board. This board looks like it's seen more use than the rest of the boards. However, I see no leakage of any sort, and no apparent damage anywhere in that area, or any other part of the internals for that matter.

Maybe I got lucky. That would be pretty cool since this amp was about to be thrown away (scrapyard). That's how I got my fully functional Power 300 WITH shroud.

Lastly, I've never seen any mention of a power plug; the other side of the amp. I'm going to make my own. And to clarify, the red on the plug is basically the remote. Correct?

Red is remote.  The wiring information is on the bottom cover.  If the writing is not legible anymore, it is the same as the low end of your power 300.  Orange = left positive.   Black = left negative.  Yellow = Right positive.  Brown = Right negative.  Orange = Bridge positive.  Brown = Bridge negative.

Oh cool! Maybe for helping you I'll win an Orion Concept 97.3! It will go with my 97.1.

I can dream, can't I?

I'm new here so bare with me. I have an old school Rockford Fosgate Punch 150 hd amp that I bought a 6 pin plug for. The plug wires don't match any of the colors on the wiring diagram on the bottom of the amp. Does anyone know which wires go where so I can wire it up to see if it still works? BTW the plug has 2 red, 2 yellow and 2 black wires.

No I don't have one. I knew I shoulda bought that multi-meter when I had the chance. If a multi-meter can help me in my situation I may be able to buy one after work, they don't cost too much.

The picture didn't show up. All I see is a blue box. So I re-read the first reply and I think I got it figured out. From top to bottom left to right the colors should be
Red Black Brown
        Orange Yellow
except on my plug the slot directly under red is not blank. am i not gonna use this wire regardless?

Give me a minute, I am at work and going to see if I can find one on the shelf somewhere. But your layout appears to be correct.

Awesome! I saw the picture and that's the exact plug that I ordered but like I said, the colors don't match so I'm gonna hook the amp up according to what I stated earlier and see what happens. If for any reason my layout is wrong what's the worst that can happen?

Use an ohm meter and the black and yellow wire should be electrically connected inside the amp.  I know that the black wire is a negative and the yellow is a positive, but those 2 wires are shorted together.

Mr. Idiot lol, do you have access to an actual stock or exact replica of the 6 pin plug so I can be certain I'm hooking the wires up in the correct configuration. If not then oh well, it was worth a shot.

I should be able to find one at work.  I got sidetracked the other day.  Hopefully tomorrow I will remember to check.

I found this pic yesterday on another car audio site I'm a member of. But post your pic up anyway to see if they're the same.

Not trying to be an donut hole but you said my last layout seemed right when it was totally different that the one in the pic. I rearranged the pins in my plug and had to label 2 of them cuz they weren't the right colors. I'm keeping my fingers crossed cuz I can't afford a new amp at the moment.

Your ltext post was correct if you were the amp and looking at the end of the plug.   I had no idea of which end of the plug you were looking at.  The picture you posted is taken from the wire end of the plug.   Both posts were right.

what i always loved about those amps was the bass center frequency was something like 50hz and the treble was centered on 15khz.

here is pic on the non HD punch 150 i just took out of a boat back in september. used it 15 years in the boat and still works perfect.

sold the boat.

That is not an HD amp, that is the revision just before the HD came out.  That revision is the one to have.  It had a much more reliable power supply than the earlier revisions, and was MUCH better than the HD line.
